WHAT TO DO BEFORE CALLING AN ELECTRICIAN

The following information may save you time and money when dealing with minor electrical problems;

  1. Know the location of your main breaker panel or fuse box. If a power outage occurs, check all breakers. The breakers should be in the "on" position. If breakers are off push handle all the way to the "off" position and then back to the "on" position.

  2. National Electric Code states that all bathroom and outdoor receptacles be protected with Ground Fault Interrupter or GFI breaker or receptacle. The GFI's are extremely sensitivity to moisture or unusual conditions that may occur. If the bathroom receptacles are not working, locate your GFI receptacle, in one of four places: bathroom, garage, kitchen, or an outside receptacle, and push the reset button. For a GFI breaker reset as stated above. If your receptacles or breakers do not reset, call your electrician.

It is wise to use only one electrical contractor for all your electrical needs. A company that is familiar with your electrical systems can find problems and handle new projects in a more cost efficient manner.
